About 4-Way Stretch - "4-way stretch" is a term more commonly used in the US. In our range, true 4-way stretch fabrics include Nylon Lycra and Power Mesh.

Most of our knit fabrics are described as 2-way stretch, with elastane providing stretch across the width and the knitted construction giving mechanical stretch along the length. These are suitable for the vast majority of knit sewing patterns that specify "4-way stretch."
