Where is your Fabric Box retail shop?
We'd love to see you at our Fabric Box retail store in Morningside, Auckland.
We are located at 2 Collins Street, Morningside, Auckland 1025 (as we are on a corner, our entrance is on Ethel Street). You can shop online and choose to pick-up from our store too. You can find directions here.
What is your store opening hours?
Monday - Friday: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday: 10.00am - 4:00pm
Sunday: Closed
Public Holidays: be sure to check our website or socials for public holiday opening hours, as we often close the retail store for national public holidays and long weekends.
Do you have parking?
Yes, we have free of charge, off street, car parks outside the storefront.
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes, we do. Please see our wholesale page for all the details.
Do you offer a Student Discount?
Yes. A student discount is available to all students with a valid student ID. The discount is valid on full-priced fabric products only. (The discount excludes remnants, sale items, threads and sewing supplies). Please get in touch for more details (include an image of your student ID) or present your student ID when you're in-store.
Designer Discount
A discount is available to eligible businesses such as designers, dressmakers & tailors. A business card is appreciated. The discount is valid on full-priced fabric products only. (The discount excludes remnants, sale items, threads and sewing supplies). Please get in touch for more details.
What is Deadstock?
"Deadstock" is an industry term used to describe fabric that has become surplus to the requirements of mills, designers or manufacturers. When the industry no longer has a use for these fabrics (for example, they're from a past season) - we take the opportunity to secure deadstock fabric for our store, in the process saving it from heading to landfill.
When we purchase a parcel of deadstock, we don't receive the details of each fabric's composition and origin. In most cases, you will see that our experienced team have evaluated each fabric and determined what they believe the fabric is made up of. If you have a keen eye, you may recognise some of our deadstock fabrics that have been used by local and international designers.
When will my order be processed?
Fabric Box online orders are fulfilled and dispatched from our Fabric Box retail store, in Morningside, Auckland, during Monday to Friday opening hours. We aim to process orders on the same day they are received or the next day. Orders placed on Friday, after the last courier pick up, over the weekend and on public holidays will be processed on the next business day. See our shipping page for more details. Please be aware that once your order is dispatched by us, our courier partners are responsible for delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
To our global sewing community, in particular, our Australian friends, sorry, we ship within New Zealand only at present. We absolutely intend to extend our offering to Australia and beyond. Stay tuned for updates.
Can I return a fabric if it's not right for my project?
All sales are final. Sorry, we do not accept returns or exchanges if you change your mind. If we have made a mistake with your order, or if you have received flawed fabric, we will of course make it right. Please contact us at shop@fabricbox.co.nz
Can I order sample swatches?
Yes. Within each product listing, hit the "ORDER FABRIC SAMPLE" button. Due to the amount of sample requests, we get every day, we kindly ask that you limit your sample requests to 6.
Reproduction of colours are as accurate as photographic processes allow, however, please note that product colours may vary from what is displayed on your computer monitor and may vary from monitor to monitor and device to device.
We suggest you order a fabric swatch so you can be sure that the colour, weight and texture of the fabric is what you have in mind for your project.
*Ordering Samples Only? We can post the samples, in a complimentary post-paid envelope.
Write "Samples by Post" in the notes section in your cart. Then, in the checkout, select "Pickup in store", so shipping is not charged.
Please Note: we cannot track a posted envelope. If samples are "urgent", we suggest you pay for courier delivery.
Although listed on the website, some items, sizes, colours and styles might not be immediately available or might be temporarily or permanently out of stock. We aim to ensure that our website is accurate, however, sometimes errors occur, for which we apologise.
